Adam Mirani was born in Waterloo, Canada, from a mixed Kurdish Canadian family. The history of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region has been woven into Adam's life and he has always felt the pull of where his dad was from, where he and his family moved in 1998.

Adam does creative photography in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, spending much of his available time traveling around its vast and seemingly unexplored mountainous landscapes.

Due to the Kurdistan Region's brutal history and general inaccessibility, much of its beautiful mountain ranges and stunning nature remains unknown to the rest of the world. Mines from past conflicts, threats of air strikes, and political instability stain the Kurdish terrain but have not stopped Adam from uncovering its charm and relating Iraqi Kurdistan's story from a different perspective.
